Technical Drawing : What is it?

Introduction

Technical Drawing or plan actually was kind of drawing that describe visually how object look alike and give full information about it. Technical drawing was used widely in technical job to construct a complex thing such as building or automotive part. All architects, engineer, designer or even land surveyor needs technical drawing or plan.

It's a precise communication to tell how an object should look like before and as a guide during its construction. By referring to technical drawing also, estimate cost of any object can calculate and it's making management team plan budget correctly.

Who does it?

A drafter, drafter, draftsman or draughtsman were responsible person that prepares any technical drawing by referring into additional information such as sketches or measurement.

How?

Manual 
A drafter will draw the drawing straight into a piece of paper. Usually they are drawn on a smooth surface such as a drawing table. The drawing table was specially designed and constructed for specific usage in drafting. To get a correct measurement, drafter will be guided by T-Square ruler, set squares, French Curve and compass. Special pencil or pen will be used mostly known by technical pen that had specific type.

Computer Aided Design
Nowadays, the computer had play an important role in drafting. By help of specific software for technical drawing, most of the job had been easier and faster. Technical drawing not limited by 2D but had expanded into 3D. Most used software in the market was AutoCAD and Microstation. 
By the help of computer software, an accurate line and curve can be done.
